J.R. Watkins New Baby Line
Recently, I had the opportunity to sample the new line of natural baby products from Watkins. There is a Soothing Baby Balm, which is great for the chapped skin we have here in the winter, but is also good for diaper irritations and is cloth diaper safe. In addition to the balm, there is a baby oil (great for making cloth wipe solutions), shampoo/wash and lotion. First of all, I love that there are no parabens or harmful chemicals in these products. I also love the scent, or rather lack there-of. The balm is unscented, and the others have a very light, barely noticeable "fresh shea and rice flower" scent. I'm not a big fan of overwhelming fragrances, so this light hint of one is nice. And last but not least, the stuff actually WORKS! The lotion is moisturizing without being greasy, the shampoo/wash is cleansing, and the balm actually does seem to help my little ones' skin. Now, as a cloth diapering family, we don't have much diaper rash to speak of. That combined with my 26 month old daughter's recent self -induced potty-training, and we haven't really needed the balm as a rash cream, but when we have used it, it did seem to help. All in all, I am sort of falling in love with Watkins stuff.
